A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Lotus Emeya doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The Mercedes EQS has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Emeya doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The rear seatbelts optional on the EQS inflate when a collision is detected, helping to spread crash forces over a much larger area of the body and limiting head and neck movement. This can help prevent spinal and internal injuries. The Emeya doesn’t offer inflatable seatbelts.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The EQS has a standard Maneuvering Brake that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Emeya doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

The EQS comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car. The Emeya’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

The EQS comes with free roadside assistance for 4 years unlimited miles. Mercedes will send help if you run out of gas, need a jump-start, lock your keys in or need any assistance on the road. Lotus doesn’t give free roadside assistance for the Emeya.

There are over 10 times as many Mercedes dealers as there are Lotus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the EQS’ warranty.

The AMG EQS’ electric motors produces 26 lbs.-ft. more torque (752 vs. 726) than the Emeya R’s optional electric motors.

The EQS’ drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The Emeya doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the EQS’ wheelbase is 5.6 inches longer than on the Emeya (126.4 inches vs. 120.8 inches).

The EQS’ standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Emeya 4-Passenger doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

Both the EQS and the Emeya offer optional massaging front seats. The EQS also offers optional massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the Emeya.

The EQS is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The Emeya doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
